Staying Active As We Age

Active-Senior-Couple

Today’s Caring Minute is about staying active as we age.

Maintaining an active lifestyle is more important than ever as we age. Regular exercise can help boost energy, maintain independence, and manage symptoms of illness and pain. Staying active is not only good for your body but also for your mind, mood, and memory. Joining a gym is not for everyone. Think about activities you enjoy and how you can incorporate them into an exercise routine. Listen to music while lifting weights; Take photographs on a nature hike; meet new people at a yoga class or fitness center; watch a favorite movie or tv show while on a treadmill; walk the golf course rather than using a cart; go for a walk, run or cycle when feeling stressed; find an exercise buddy.
